Key Points for Competitors
Race day is approaching fast and we wanted to draw your attention to some key points. It is important you read these, even if you have raced at Mid Sussex before, because there are some changes this year. Your race pack will be with you by the end of next week these will contain all your numbers, bike/helmet and race numbers. There is plenty of parking at the event so no need to worry about street parking.
Registration takes place in the Leisure Centre foyer between 6:00 and 7:00am. Please note, the transition area will be closed off at 7.00am when the event starts.
Registration will be split into two sections:
• non-BTA members sign in and are marked with their race number and receive a BTA day licence;
• BTA members must produce a valid BTA membership card, sign in and be marked with their race number
Any competitor who entered as a BTA member but fails to produce a valid membership card must purchase a day membership licence for £3.00. Competitors will then proceed to the transition area, with bike race number affixed to bike. Prepare your kit in the transition area and then make your way to the swimming pool ready for the start. Please be aware of competitors who have already started and keep clear of swim exit route. Toilets, changing rooms and lockers are adjacent to the pool – lockers take £1 coins.
Race Briefing
Will take place in the transition area at 6:45am
Transition layout – is unchanged from previous years. See the current version on the website:http://www.midsussextriclub.com/MidSussexTriathlon/Images/mst_transition_map_2010_large.gif
Your Safety - On the bike, please be wary of the many and varied potholes that appeared when the snow melted. Some of the roads have been resurfaced but these also hold hidden dangers as there is a lot of gravel/loose chippings on them especially on the way out of Twineham. Remember no bike helmet NO RACE.
The Bike route a small part has changed this year, please familiarise yourself with it at: http://www.midsussextriclub.com/MidSussexTriathlon/Images/mst_bike_map_2010_large.jpg
The Run route passes over Jane Murray Way, a very fast road. Please pay special attention to the marshals here or you may be disqualified.
All the race information is available at http://www.midsussextriclub.com/MidSussexTriathlon/instructions.aspx so please re-familiarise yourself with the details.
There will be an exceptional goody bag for you to collect when you cross the finish line and you can download your race photo for free! Please visit http://www.sussexsportphotography.com/
This year we can also offer you 3 issues of Triathlon Plus Magazine for £3. To find out more about this great offer please visit http://www.triathlonplusmagazine.com/
